Our vision
Making sport and physical activity a driving force for academic, social and professional success. The Centre Multisports André-Chagnon wishes to set an example as a model of regional consultation and mobilization for the development of sport and physical activity in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
Our History
The Centre Multisports André-Chagnon , located at 3093 boulevard de la Gare in Vaudreuil-Dorion, is a major sports facility that opened its doors in October 2012.
The project emerged during Vaudreuil-Dorion's bid for the 2010 Quebec Summer Games Finals, revealing a dire need for sports infrastructure in the region. Thanks to an investment of $25 million, including nearly $17 million from the Fonds Chantier-Canada-Québec program, construction of the centre began in the summer of 2011.
The centre offers a variety of facilities, including a 200-metre athletics track, tennis courts, gymnasiums, a health bistro and conference rooms. It aims to promote healthy lifestyles and support the development of sports excellence in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges community.
In November 2022, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion renamed the centre in honour of Mr. André Chagnon, founder of Vidéotron and a renowned philanthropist who lived in the city for over 50 years. Mr. Chagnon was a regular member of the centre, training there regularly until 2020.
Since its inauguration, the Centre Multisports André-Chagnon has firmly established itself in the community, celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2017 and its 7th in 2019, while continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the region's residents.
The centre is administered by a non-profit organization responsible for operations, rentals and programming, with the mission of enabling the entire community of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and its surrounding region to adopt healthy lifestyle habits through the regular practice of physical and sports activities at all levels.
Over the years, the Centre Multisports André-Chagnon has been able to adapt and diversify its offering to meet the growing needs of the population, becoming an essential pillar for the well-being and health of residents of Vaudreuil-Dorion and the surrounding area.
Who is André Chagnon

La santé a toujours été au cœur des préoccupations de ce grand philanthrope, autant celle des gens qu’il aidait par le biais de sa fondation que la sienne.
