Groupe Allard-Ménard: Supporting the Effort

The signature of the Allard-Ménard Group is visible across Vaudreuil-Dorion and its surrounding areas. A leader in residential development, the company is also recognized for its strong philanthropic commitment, offering financial support to over 30 organizations and associations in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

Health, compassion, and dignity are core values when it comes to selecting causes to support. From Fondation De L’espoir and Noël pour tous to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence and the Fondation des enfants de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, chances are you’ll find the Allard-Ménard name associated with most local initiatives.

“We do give a lot in the region, it’s true,” says Sylvain Ménard. “But it takes people willing to help!”

Encouraging others to give back, Sylvain shares his connection to sports—he once played hockey and baseball like many boys of his generation.

Today, he and his business partner of 20 years, Raymond Allard, support the Centre Multisports by sponsoring the atrium where members first enter the facility. More than just an entryway or meeting point, the atrium highlights the names of those who, like Allard-Ménard Group, have chosen to support physical activity for all.

“By doing this, we want to help keep the Centre healthy so people continue coming,” explains Sylvain Ménard. “More and more people are using the facility every year—it needs to be promoted.”

“All of our developments promote strong values. I’m convinced other companies would benefit from associating with us.”

A Daily Walk

While his wife jogs regularly on the Centre’s indoor track, Sylvain Ménard admits he’s been wanting to get back in shape—and time, he says, isn’t the issue.

“Working out has nothing to do with how busy you are. It’s about motivation. What matters is doing it. It changes everything. At some point, I won’t have a choice—I’ll have to get started!”

Raymond Allard is more active: he visits the Centre regularly and moves his daily walk indoors when the weather takes a turn:

“This municipality is lucky to have a facility of this quality,” he says. “I have a gym at home, but when I’m alone, I don’t go. I prefer coming here, walking the track, and doing a light workout.”

Just like any other sector, sports need financial backing to help young athletes reach their full potential. Beyond the Centre Multisports, the Allard-Ménard Group also sponsors triathlete Élisabeth Boutin and several sports associations, particularly in ice hockey.

It’s generous support—one that, hopefully, will inspire other businesses to get involved too.
