New Road and Mountain Biking Club – ZVP-Opto Réseau

After nearly three decades without a local club, the Centre Multisports is proud to launch a new cycling club featuring both road and mountain biking. In its first season, the club will welcome Pee-Wee (11–12 years), Minime (13–14 years), and Cadet (15–16 years) categories — both boys and girls — as well as a Masters category (30+).

Experienced Leadership for a Strong Foundation

The season kicks off in early May — some riders will hit the roads, others the trails (thanks to a partnership with Ski Mont Rigaud), and some will enjoy both disciplines. Two group training sessions per week are scheduled for each discipline, in addition to a full competition calendar. Young athletes will proudly wear the club’s colors, supported by key sponsors.

Philippe Raymond, head of the Zone Vélo Perfo at the Centre Multisports and a Level 3 cycling coach, emphasizes that this is a development club, not an elite or high-performance team. A skilled team of coaches will guide athletes throughout the season.

A Return Just in Time for the Quebec Games

After a 25-year absence, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region is back in the road and mountain biking scene — just in time for the upcoming Quebec Games. Road events will take place July 18–21 near the Université de Montréal, while mountain biking competitions will run July 22–25 on the trails of Centre de plein air in Terrebonne. Athletes must first qualify during June's selection events, organized by the club.

The club's calendar also includes key events like the Minime and Cadet Cup (boys and girls) at the Lachine Mardis cyclistes, and various Quebec Cup races in both road and mountain biking disciplines. Masters athletes will also be invited to take part in a range of provincial cyclosportive events.

Info and Registration Night

The ZVP–Opto Réseau Club will host an information and registration evening on April 12 at 6:30 PM at the Centre Multisports. Come discover all the season details and meet the coaching staff.
