Comment rendre vos séances d’entraînement plus efficaces

We all lead busy lives, and sometimes we struggle to make time for our health. So how can you get the most out of your workout time?

Whether you’ve got a full hour or just 15 minutes to spare each day, here are simple and effective tips to help you improve your fitness. And remember—doing any kind of physical activity is already a great start.

Have a Plan

Before starting (or restarting), plan your workout in advance to avoid wasting time. Know which exercises you’ll do, where, and in what order. If you're unsure how to begin, talk to a kinesiologist—a certified expert who can guide you safely.

Build a High-Energy Workout Playlist

Music is a powerful motivator. According to the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, self-selected music can significantly increase workout intensity. Choose songs that make you feel strong, empowered, and ready to conquer any challenge.

Put Your Phone on Airplane Mode

Your workout time is an investment in yourself. Avoid distractions—switch to airplane mode or leave your phone in the locker.

Cut Down Rest Time Between Sets

Short on time? Reduce your rest intervals. Less rest means more intensity, and it keeps your heart rate up throughout the session for a better calorie burn.

Focus on Compound Movements

Compound exercises engage multiple muscle groups and joints simultaneously. Think squats, lunges, push-ups—or combinations like bicep curls with shoulder presses. They allow you to get more done in less time.

⚠️ Just make sure your form is correct to avoid injury.

Add Resistance Gradually

Challenging your muscles with heavier weights helps improve strength and endurance. If you already use weights, try a slight increase to push your limits safely.

Try High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

HIIT involves short bursts of maximum effort followed by recovery. Work intervals typically last 20 to 90 seconds. Go all-out—whether you're sprinting on a treadmill or powering through burpees.

Monitor Your Heart Rate

A heart rate monitor gives real-time feedback on your training intensity. It helps you avoid undertraining and shows when you can push harder. It’s also a great way to measure progress.

Prioritize Rest and Recovery

Sleep and recovery are essential. Training stresses the muscles—only rest allows them to rebuild stronger. Recovery prevents injury and ensures you get the full benefits of every workout.

Do What You Truly Enjoy

The best workout is one you’ll stick to. If you don’t enjoy your routine, you’re unlikely to stay consistent—or give it your full effort. Try different formats until you find something that energizes and excites you.
