Nancy Quane: A Life of Sports and Business

Today we sit down at La Cage – Brasserie Sportive in Vaudreuil-Dorion to chat with Nancy Quane, restaurant owner and lifelong fitness enthusiast.

You might see her at the restaurant, the grocery store, or just out and about. But you’re also very likely to spot her at the Centre Multisports—either on the gym floor or the indoor track. Nancy Quane has been training her whole life. Apart from a recent injury that kept her away from weights and machines for a while, physical activity is central to her daily routine and colors her travels with long walks, mountain hikes, or runs:

“I’ve trained my entire life, and so has my family,” says the sister in a large family of two girls and six boys. “We’ve all done well. I don’t know if it’s just luck, but we’ve always taken care of ourselves. Our parents always told us that sports were important. I tell my whole team the same thing: sport gives us adrenaline, oxygenates our brain—it’s something we need.”

As Essential as a Shower

Through her example and her energy, Nancy Quane lives what she preaches. She’s convinced that training helps her think clearly, focus better, and simply have better days. Her employees know this too and often follow her lead:

“If I see that someone plays sports or works out on their resume, that’s a huge plus for me—and for the entire La Cage Brasserie Sportive network,” says the businesswoman. “When people are active, everything just seems to work better.”

For those who feel like getting back in shape is like climbing an endless mountain, Nancy Quane promises quick benefits, even in daily tasks like going up or down stairs:

“When you start training, you feel the benefits right away. You can’t stop—it’s like a drug,” she says. “You see results within 48 hours. Everything feels different and it doesn’t take long.”

To stay even closer to her active lifestyle, Nancy recently created her own small private gym:

“There’s no way I’ll ever stop working out,” she states firmly. “It’s like taking my morning shower—it has to happen.”

A Way of Living

To understand Nancy Quane’s success in business, you might want to start by looking at her love of sports. As she explains, sport isn’t just a hobby or a temporary habit—it’s a way of living. And, undoubtedly, a way of being.
