Spotlight on Our Kinesiologists
The faces of our kinesiologists have changed in recent months at Centre Multisports, and now is the perfect time to introduce the passionate individuals who inspire others to move. A shared love for physical activity is what unites Isabelle Sinclair, Charles-Édouard Jarry, and Maude Fleury-Rousseau.
Isabelle Sinclair is known for her infectious laughter and sense of humor. Beyond the energy she brings to her classes and one-on-one sessions, she believes that anyone can adapt—regardless of their condition. With over 10 years of experience in adapted sports, Isabelle has seen people in wheelchairs play rugby, which has reshaped her view of physical limits:
"Often, the real limitation is fear," she explains. "When we’re in pain, we become afraid of making things worse. So we stop moving, and that immobility actually makes things worse. It’s a vicious cycle. We need a motivational approach to help people realize that not moving is what’s truly harmful."
Curious and methodical, Isabelle completed a master’s degree on lifestyle habits and stress during pregnancy, and how they impact childbirth and child development. She’s now pursuing a PhD focused on gestational diabetes and physical activity. Seniors and young mothers frequently turn to her for guidance.
Charles-Édouard Jarry has made it his mission to help those who struggle with movement or have lost the motivation to get back in shape. Attentive and thoughtful, he focuses on identifying the root of the problem:
"I don’t have a one-size-fits-all workout template," says the hiking enthusiast. "Each person has specific needs and areas to work on. There’s always something we can do to stay active, no matter the physical condition."
He stays closely connected with his clients to continually adapt their training plans to evolving needs. Whether someone is seeking a straightforward plan or intensive support two to three times a week, Charles-Édouard is there to help. Athletes are often among those who seek his expertise.
A lifelong athlete, Maude Fleury-Rousseau began coaching her teammates in CEGEP and soon realized she could make it her profession. She describes a kinesiologist as a specialist in physical activity who uses movement for prevention, rehabilitation, and performance. Her clients train hard:
"With me, there’s no wasting time chatting—we train!" she says without hesitation.
Behind the scenes, people joke that her workouts are like boot camp. Maude warns against trendy, one-size-fits-all fitness programs:
"There’s no such thing as an all-inclusive workout plan," she asserts. "You need effort and a clear understanding of someone’s lifestyle. If anyone tries to sell you a catch-all program—even a kinesiologist—ask questions."
She often works with children, teens, and individuals focused on performance.
No matter which kinesiologist you work with, you can be confident in starting your journey with a personalized plan tailored to your condition, goals, and experience. Kinesiology is the best starting point toward a healthier, more active life.
