Passion Soccer: Community-Driven and Culture-Focused

It took Raffaele Venturino 10 years to leave a job he'd held for 34 years before opening his first Passion Soccer store in Montréal-Nord.

He soon opened a second store in Laval, followed by a third one across from the Centre Multisports three years ago:

“Our purpose is to bring something social. I want people to feel at home—this is their store,” explains the owner, who moved to Quebec at age 7. “It’s more than just service. When you walk in, you become part of the family.”

A father of three, Raffaele describes himself as a coach, a player, and above all, a lifelong soccer fan. His love for the sport isn’t just reflected in the store’s name—it’s embedded in his actions.

Culture and Way of Life

Wherever he goes, Raffaele Venturino forges connections with his community. In Montréal-Nord, for example, he has partnered with various organizations for the past three years to run a free soccer camp for youth who don’t otherwise have access to sports. His store donates uniforms to over 75 kids:

“You have to give,” says the entrepreneur. “If you keep everything to yourself, you’re not rich. Life doesn’t work that way. Rewards come later—but you don’t do it for the reward. You do it because it’s natural.”

Driven by a desire to give back and build the communities he works in, Passion Soccer naturally became a partner of the Centre Multisports. Together, they’re planning day camps and youth soccer clinics. In the meantime, Passion Soccer sponsors the Centre’s Futsal League, an indoor soccer league launched in fall 2015.

“We’ve got talent here—we can play any sport, we’re naturally good,” says the Lazio-born soccer enthusiast. “But we need a place to grow, to learn the right techniques, start from the basics, and begin young.”

Soccer as a Life Lesson

Venturino’s Italian family values shine through in his reflections on soccer and teamwork:

“Every player has a responsibility to the team. It teaches you how to support others, how to help someone succeed. The guy who scores—yes, he scores—but where did that play start from?”

To him, soccer instills vital values: punctuality, discipline, attention to detail, and a deep sense of commitment—not just to the team, but to society at large.

Passion Soccer may offer stylish apparel, high-performance cleats, and top-tier gear—but above all, it represents a lifestyle and culture far beyond the field.
