For a second consecutive year, the Centre Multisports is proud to sponsor Sarah Lessard, an athlete taking part in the prestigious Classique internationale de canots de la Mauricie!
This long-distance canoe race allows athletes to compete in two-person canoes in the men’s, mixed or women’s categories—or in the rabaska class. For its 83rd edition, the 200 km race begins on Saturday in La Tuque with a 75 km stage ending in Trois-Rives (Matawin sector). The second stage covers a 70 km stretch and concludes in downtown Shawinigan. On Labour Day, the final leg covers 45 km between Shawinigan and Trois-Rivières.
In addition to paddling at an average rate of 80 strokes per minute, canoeists must also complete five portages ranging from 200 to 1000 meters. The winners are determined based on the cumulative time at the finish line in Trois-Rivières on Monday, September 5.
The Centre Multisports extends its best wishes to Sarah Lessard and her entire team. Good luck!
