Get an accurate 3D avatar and reliable body composition analysis with simple preparation and standardized conditions.
Visbody combines a 3D body scan with bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) body composition analysis. The 3D capture itself takes approximately 30 to 32 seconds, during which time the device generates a 3D avatar and collects detailed measurements (circumferences and posture) that are easy to compare from one visit to the next.
The entire process, including the various steps guided on screen (height, posture, 3D scan, weight, and BIA analysis), takes approximately 4 to 6 minutes.
To obtain the most consistent results possible, the key is simple: come in under similar conditions for each scan (clothing, time of day, hydration, etc.) to ensure reliable monitoring over time.
A FEW TIPS
Before coming to the Multisports Center for your Visbody scan:
- It is recommended that you avoid eating for 3 hours prior to the measurement.
- Maintain normal hydration, without drinking large amounts of water just before the scan.
- Avoid intense exercise immediately before the scan.
- Wear fitted clothing (close-fitting sportswear).
- Remove all metal objects (watches, rings, necklaces, etc.).
- Avoid applying lotion or cream to your hands and feet.
- Look straight ahead and remain still during the scans.
- If the scan is performed before or after a physical assessment or workout, it may be a good idea to have a snack.
How the Visbody scan works
The complete scan takes approximately 4 to 6 minutes, and you will be guided by the instructions displayed on the screen at each step.
STEP 1: Remove loose clothing and metal objects
Visbody captures the surface of the body to create a 3D avatar and measure circumferences.
It does not “see” through clothing.
Loose or thick clothing can distort circumference measurements and reduce the accuracy of 3D imaging.
Preferred:
- Undergarments
- Leggings or fitted shorts
- Camisole or fitted T-shirt
- Sports bra (if needed)
To avoid:
- Jeans
- Regular loose-fitting T-shirts
- Hoodies or thick clothing
- Clothing that is too tight and excessively compresses certain areas
Circumference measurements are taken automatically (waist, hips, thighs, arms, calves, etc.). Any interfering elements (clothing folds, objects, hair covering the neck) may reduce accuracy.
STEP 2: Ensure that the neck and face are clear.
Hair must be tied back if necessary to keep it off the neck.
The camera must have a clear view of:
- The neck (front, sides, and back)
- The shoulders
- The face (eyes visible)
This allows for a more accurate analysis of posture and body alignment.
STEP 3: Measuring height
Step onto the rotating platform.
- Stand up straight.
- Look straight ahead.
- Arms relaxed at your sides.
- Remain completely still during the rotation.
This step records your height in order to optimize subsequent analyses.
STEP 4: Posture analysis
Still on the platform:
- Arms naturally at your sides.
- Look straight ahead.
- Keep your body still while the photo is being taken.
This analysis allows the Visbody to evaluate:
- Shoulder alignment
- Head position
- Asymmetries
- Overall postural imbalances
⚠️ People who are prone to dizziness should avoid this step due to the rotation of the platform.
STEP 5: 3D Scan – Circumferences
Position requested:
- Arms open at approximately 45°
- Without touching the trunk
- Fists closed
- Body stable and immobile
The turntable rotates during capture.
This step allows you to:
- Creating your 3D avatar
- Automated circumference measurement
- Precise visual tracking of your progress
Breathe normally, avoiding excessive chest movements.
STEP 6: Weighing
Step onto the built-in scale.
- Feet positioned correctly
- Body still
- Arms relaxed
The weight will be included in the comprehensive analysis.
STEP 7: Body composition analysis (BIA)
- Stand barefoot on the electrodes.
- Grasp the handles.
- Open your arms to approximately 45°.
- Do not touch your body.
- Remain still for a few seconds.
This analysis measures in particular:
- Muscle mass
- Fat mass
- Fat percentage
- Body water
- Segmental analysis (arms, legs, trunk)
Results may vary depending on hydration, meals, exercise, and time of day. It is therefore important to standardize your conditions from one visit to the next.
Viewing your results
Once your scan is complete, your results may be:
-
Presented during a consultation with a trainer, or
-
Accessible via a QR code (mobile viewing)
A report can also be sent by email.
Safety and precautions
The device is not recommended for:
- People with metal or electronic medical devices (e.g., pacemakers)
- Pregnant women
By following the above guidelines, you will optimize the accuracy of your analysis and the comparability of your results over time.
