Claude David: Where Runners Find Their Stride

For over three decades, Claude David has been a driving force in Quebec’s running scene. A passionate community builder and mentor, he’s dedicated his life to developing the sport and inspiring new generations of runners.

Founder of the Cross des couleurs, a popular fall trail race held in Les Cèdres, Claude also led the Endurance Running Circuit for eight years. His influence reaches far beyond events: he has served on the board of the Fédération québécoise d’athlétisme, created the Vaudreuil Track and Field Club, acted as regional coordinator for athletics at the Québec Games, and organized the L’Île-Bizard Winter Challenge—each initiative further testament to his commitment.

Whether coaching youth or shaping policies, Claude has always kept one foot on the track. His journey is one of transmission, inclusion, and perseverance. “When team sports no longer work for you, you find your place in an individual sport,” he says. Claude didn’t just find his place—he helped build it for others.
