Joël Amyotte

Climbing, commitment and the drive to grow

Joël Amyotte discovered climbing at 11 years old and entered the competitive circuit by age 13. His experience as an athlete gave him a deep understanding of movement, technique, and personal growth through sport.

Now a climbing coach at the Centre Multisports wall and for the Club Alliance Escalade, Joël brings positive energy, determination and structure to each session. His goal is to help every climber—no matter their level—build confidence, skills and love for the sport.

He combines analytical training with specific climbing exercises to ensure targeted, effective progress. In parallel, he’s studying Natural Sciences at John Abbott College to deepen his understanding of physical performance and human mechanics.

What inspires you the most?

Competition is a big source of inspiration for me. Training with others helps me push my limits and stay focused on my goals. I’m always striving to become the best version of myself.

What do you eat before and after your workout?

Before training, I eat fast-absorbing carbs for quick energy. Afterward, I prioritize protein to support muscle recovery.

What type of training do you do?

I focus on a mix of analytical training and climbing-specific sessions, tailored to my technical and physical development.
