Joanne Giatrakas

Rehabilitation and Training for Well-Being

It was while supporting a client living with the after-effects of a stroke for over 20 years that Joanne developed a deep interest in neuroplasticity and post-stroke rehabilitation. Since then, she has focused her practice on neurorehabilitation, incorporating a humane, progressive, and personalized approach.

Her expertise also extends to strength training, physical conditioning, and supporting individuals suffering from chronic pain or injuries. With her holistic view of health, she offers tailored interventions that focus on both well-being and the return to functional mobility.

Joanne combines scientific rigor with an empathetic approach to help each individual regain confidence in their abilities and enjoy moving.

What inspires you the most?

My 90-year-old grandmother inspires me by not letting her mobility restrictions prevent her from moving as much as possible. She used to make me exercise with her when I was little, and now I help her exercise.

What's your favorite quote?

"I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them" – Andy Bernard

What type of training do you do?

I love any type of training, but my favorites are lifting weights in the gym and yoga.
